If your toilet is clogged, you can typically use a plunger to dislodge anything stuck in the pipe. Be careful not to flush until the water drains on its own, as otherwise you could flood the bathroom.

Clogged Drains

Faced with a clog? First, try using a plunger to clear the blockage. Place the plunger over the drain, then create a seal by pressing down and pushing up rapidly several times.

If this doesn't work, you can try using a drain snake to remove the blockage manually. Another option is to mix equal parts baking soda and vinegar, pour the mixture down the drain, and let it sit for a few hours before flushing it out with hot water. If these methods don't work, contact us.

If you lose electrical power in your home, the first step is to check if the outage is affecting just your apartment or the entire building. If it's just your unit, check the circuit breaker panel and reset any tripped breakers.

If the outage is affecting the neighborhood, contact the power company to report the outage and get an estimate for when the power will be restored.

Every building has a different heating system; if you have a central thermostat in your unit, you can use it to troubleshoot the system. Cycle it off and back on again to see if you can restore the defaults.

If your radiators are controlled using small knobs, make sure the knob is set to the open position.
